Venturing Code " As a Venturer, I believe that America's strength lies in our trust in God and in the courage, strength, and traditions of our people. " I will, therefore, be faithful in my religious duties and will maintain a personal sense of honor in my own life. " I will treasure my American Heritage and will do all I can to preserve and enrich it. " I will recognize the dignity and worth of all humanity and will use fair play and goodwill in my daily life. I will acquire the Venturing attitude that seeks the truth in all things and adventure on the frontiers of our changing world.

Goals " To have fun and enjoy authentically portraying Civil War soldiers and Union Civilians. " To learn what it was like to live during the Time of the American Civil War " To experience the comradeship and pride of belonging to a Volunteer Infantry regiment. " To preserve history. " To stimulate interests in the American Civil War.

Expectations:
" Every member has a desire to honor the men and women of the period of the American Civil War. " Every member maintains a positive attitude at all times. " Venturing is a team effort, so every member is expected to work for the benefit of the whole Crew. " Every member will strive to live up to the Venturing Oath and the Venturing Code. " Every member is expected to make every effort to participate and support the events of our Crew and Charter organization. " Members are strongly encouraged to contribute to the newsletter. " Every member is expected to strive for an authenticity in dress and behavior. " Every military Crew member is expected to attain a proficiency in drill and military duties. " Non-military members are expected to attain an understanding of the day-to-day activities of civilians during the American Civil War. " Every Crew member is expected to abide by the authenticity standards as set by the Charter organization. " All members are expected to abide by the safety standards of the Charter organization. " All members are encouraged to learn the history of the 136th New York Volunteer Infantry regiment.
